Painting competition mark Road Safety Week at Wokha

Wokha, April 28 (MExN): As part of the Road Safety Week, Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Bharat Laxman Markad, IPS organized a painting competition at the office of the SP office conference hall, Wokha on April 28.  

The competition was held on the theme ‘Your Safety Security Your Family-Be Cautious on Road.’ Altogether, 38 students from ten schools participated in the competition in two categories Junior (Cl-2-7) and senior (8-10). The panel of judges for the competition was Thungbemo Murry, Zuben DPRO Office, Anito Traffic I/C Wokha and Yenrothung Odyuo, Vice President, Lotha Students Union. The competition was judged on interpretation and clarity on the theme, creativity and originality of the depicted theme and quality of artistic composition and overall design on the theme, stated a press release received here.  

In the senior category, Rhondeno P Yanthan of DBHSS, Kideno S Odyuo of DBHSS and Bidemo Kikon of Little Angle School were awarded the first second and third respectively. In the junior category, Shatipong Jamir of Perennial Montessori, Emilo T Humtsoe and Senkathung S Patton were adjudged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners respectively. The winners were awarded with cash prize of Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000, and Rs. 2000 sketch book and citation certificates. Sketch books and certificates of participation were also given to all the participants.  

SP Wokha, Bharat Laxman Markad shared on the importance of road safety during the prize distribution ceremony which was chaired by SDPO Wokha, K. Soriso, Chairman, Organising Committee.
