Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor, Kudecho Khamo inaugurated Panchayat Bhavan building on November 13 at Phusachodu village in Phek district.
Addressing the inaugural function, Khamo applauded Phusachodu Village Council (PVC) and Village Development Board (VDB) for judicious use of government funds for development in terms of road connectivity and other developmental initiatives.
He encouraged the community to continue leveraging government schemes aimed at improving livelihood and empowerment.
Khamo highlighted Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s commitment to advancing sports, tourism in Nagaland, education and over all round development of the state.
The Advisor urged the villagers to embrace the people-centric government initiatives be it for education, livelihood, health initiatives, economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.
Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Vezuhu Keyho, praised Phusachodu as a model village, attributing its achievements to a spirit of unity and transparency.
He urged the village to continue being a positive example for surrounding communities.
Shunyhunle Nyenthong, Joint Director of the Rural Development Department, also commended the village for its achievements and effective management of resources.
She described the Panchayat Bhavan building as a unique addition to the department’s rural infrastructure projects.
Vethikhoyi Khamo, VDB Secretary of Phusachodu, shared the vision behind the new Panchayat Bhavan, noting that the building will serve as a guest house to promote hospitality for visitors, researchers, and dignitaries boosting the village infrastructure.
The facility includes a “human library hall,” designed to facilitate knowledge-sharing and preserve local narratives for researchers. Vehupa Rose, chairman, Phusachodu Village Council also delivered short speech.
