Peren, April 27 (DIPR): The district level celebration of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar cum Panchayat Day 2016 was observed on April 18 at DC conference hall under the chairmanship of ADC Peren, S. Tainiu. Oath taking was led by DC Peren, Peter Lichamo for maintaining social harmony and equity, which was the dream of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Life sketch of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was presented by BDO Peren, Iteising and the significance of 24th April, the day the Constitutional Amendment for Panchayati Raj came into force, was presented by SDO (C) Peren, Robin. Later, paper presentation on various programmes and achievements by the department of PHED, Social Welfare and R.D. were made. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Project Director DRDA Peren, Imtimenla.
