Panchayat Hall of Ward No-17 Kma inaugurated

Kohima, September 27 (MExN): Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, Advisor Urban Development & Municipal Affairs inaugurated the newly constructed Panchayat Hall of Ward No-17 Kohima on September 27. The new Panchayat hall, which has a sitting capacity of 150 people, is one of the best and biggest Panchayat hall among all the 19 wards under Kohima Municipality.
Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, speaking at the inaugural programme said, “A house is built by hands but a home is built by hearts and so let there be love and understanding among all the different communities in the ward.” He urged the ward residents to work together for the betterment of the society & the colony, and promised to help the ward in whatever ways possible. Ward No 17 can out do and outshine all the other wards in Kohima in every aspect if the residents work together, he said.Short speeches were also delivered by Neibulie Kiewhuo, President, Association of Kohima Municipal Ward Panchayat and Kovi Meyase, Administrator KMC and CEO Smart City Project also spoke during the programme. I Himato Zhimomi, Principal Secretary Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, briefly shared on the recent Plastic Free Environment Campaign and ban of single use plastic in the State. He further encouraged the ward residents to reduce the use of plastic and contribute in whatever way one can in the fight against plastic pollution.Earlier, T Sanny Pongener, Convenor Construction Committee gave a brief report on the construction of the Panchayat hall while N.Z. Makritsu Chairman Ward No-17 gave the welcome address. Atuo Metha, Chairman Upper Agri Colony pronounced the vote of thanks.
