Pangnyu to inaugurate BSL-2 lab in Tuensang today

The Integrated Molecular Diagnostic and Research Laboratory (BSL-2) at the District Hospital, Tuensang will be inaugurated by Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, S Pangnyu Phom, as the special guest at 09:00 am on August 28.

The inaugural function will be chaired by Dr I Moatemjen, Chief Medical Officer, Tuensang; dedicatory prayer by Rev Achu Chang, Executive Secretary, CBLT; welcome note by Dr Zathung Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Tuensang; and a brief report  will be presented by Dr Kevichusa Medikhrü Mission, Director, NHM.

Advisor, Prison, Printing & Stationary Haiying and Advisor, IPR, SCERT, VG & District Task Force Toshi Wungtung will also deliver short speeches while Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DTF Tuensang Kumar Ramnikant, IAS will give the vote of thanks. 

Once inaugurated, the BSL-2 laboratory in Tuensang would be the third such laboratory in the state. The first laboratory (BSL-3) was commissioned on May 31 at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, followed by another (BSL-2) at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Dimapur on June 27.
