Pangti VC resolves on Naga political issue

Pangti, July 13 (MExN): A consultative meeting was held between the NSCN (IM) leaders and the Pangti Village Council (PVC) on July 8 at Pangti Village where members reaffirmed to uphold "the integrity of Pangti Village and to participate in the Naga political movement in the common interests of the Nagas to reach a peaceful political settlement." 

“Since the inception of Nagas freedom movement, the people of Pangti Village have selflessly participated, and continues to participate, in the Naga struggles for a noble cause,” it said. 

After adequate interactions, the members present also decided to extend their co-operation to each other for the welfare and safety of the general public of the village. It was also resolved to uphold each other in times of need for betterment of the Pangti people, stated a press release from the PVC chairman N Rakomo Jami and Secretary W Tsenthungo Jami.

As per the release, the NSCN (IM) team comprised of O Mozamo Ngullie, Kilonser, Ministry of Information and Publicity and  Yizamo Shitiri, Kilonser. 

Mozamo spoke on the present status of the ongoing Indo-Naga political negotiations and the Framework Agreement and appealed to the people of Pangti to continue their prayers and support for reaching an honourable political settlement which can be found only through the Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015, it said.  

Shitiri, meanwhile, recalled and emphasised on the sacrifices made by the pioneers of Pangti in the Naga National movements who had given their best of sacrifices including their lives, it added. 

He further stressed on the need to stay united and to stay firm in the common interests of the Nagas.
