
Phek, July 30 (MExN): There has been public outcry over a period of time due to half hearted services of some departmental heads and their subordinates causing untold hardships to the general public in the district headquarter of Phek, particularly failure of link at SBI Phek, frequent outage of power and poor supply of water.
In this concerns, the Phek Area Public Organsiation (PAPO) President, Vezhehu Vero and General Secretary, Zechete Mekrisuh in a press statement said that the frequent power outage has been more unusual as because even with a few drops of rain or a mild storm power goes off, and the manual staffs having no resources within their level in the absence of their superiors often responses the public with flimsy excuses. “And yet, the irregularity of power supply during the month will have no effect on consumer’s bill rather keep on increasing,” said the statement.
PAPO also stated that regular supply of water which is indispensable needs of every household round the clock has been another outcry of the public for several months due to “irresponsible officers of the department.”
The Organisation alleged that “the whole responsibility of the department is assigned to one JE or one senior most grade staff but without a single paisa left to repair even a blasted pipe or leakages.”
Further, PAPO added that “the SBI Phek popularly known to the public for its frequent link failure, three-four times even on one transaction day causing great inconveniences especially to people coming from far villages.”
The Organisation went on to allege that “the timing of the bank hour is so disgusting that it open at 11: 00 am and shut down at 2:00 pm, may be shortest Bank business hour in the state. Over and above, the officials of the bank do not know how to greet customers/public except to show their ruddy faces.”
