Imphal, February 21 (MExN): The 21 Assam Rifles of HQ 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) had organised a National Integration Tour for twenty farmers of Chandel district. A press note from the Public Relations Officer of the IGAR (S) informed that the tour commenced on 01 Feb when they were flagged off by Commandant 21 Assam Rifles at Sajik Tampak.
The tour visited Delhi where apart from visiting various places of historic / cultural interest, the team also interacted with Agricultural Scientists at the PUSA Agriculture Institute.
12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (S) conducted a Medical Camp at Tengnoupal Village, Chandel District of Manipur on 18 Feb 2016. The men of 20 Assam Rifles in their “usual interactions” with the people of the village realized the lack of basic medical facilities and awareness causes poor health and subsequent illness amongst the people of the village. A team of Doctors and Nursing Assistants of 12 Assam Rifles thus conducted the camp under the theme of “Doctors at the Door Step” which included Free Medical Checkup of patients, distribution of medicines, counselling sessions from the team of Doctors and Nursing Assistants. Approximately 70 people including elders and children of Village Tengnoupal and adjoining areas participated in the medical camp.
In a similar initiative, 21 Assam Rifles of HQ 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a Medical Camp at Haika Village located in Chandel District. The highlight was the administering of de-worming medicines particularly for children.
Medical teams of the 26 Sector Assam Rifles and 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) successfully organized Pulse Polio Immunization Camps at Nodal Hospitals of Headquarters, 26 Sector Assam Rifles, Pallel in Chandel District and Headquarters, 2 Assam Rifles in Thoubal District of Manipur State respectively on 21 February 2016 with an aim of 100 Percent immunization of all children under five years of age in Manipur State in consonance with the National aim of Polio-Free Nation. The Polio drops were administered throughout the day with 348 children of age five and below availing the facility.
