Kohima, June 19 (MExN): The Bayavü Area Panchayat (BAP) has appealed to the public in general and organizations/ associations/ protestors/ agitators in particular organizing meetings, agitations and events in its jurisdiction to park their cars properly and organize their events, meetings and agitations without obstructing the traffic movement and without causing inconveniences to the general public.
The appeal has been made in view of the problems and inconveniences faced by the colony residents due to frequent agitations and events organized in the colony jurisdiction, stated a press release issued by BAP chairman, Khinyi Woch and Bayavü Youth Organization president, Neiphrelie Metha today.
“While the Bayavü Area Panchayat sympathizes the plight and struggles of the agitating groups in their fight for their legitimate rights and genuine demands and morally support their struggles, however due to the agitators and attendees of meetings parking their vehicles randomly in the colony roads, there are frequent cases of obstruction of free movement of vehicles of the colony residents and others concerned and complaints thereof,” it pointed out.
It further stated that Bayavü being not only a big colony with a large number of residents but also hosting a good number of offices, educational and other institutions, “such obstructions are creating avoidable inconveniences hindering the timely movement of the general public to attend to important and emergency cases like sicknesses and delivery cases, meetings, schools and offices etc.”
The release cautioned that the authorities concerned along with the Bayavü Youth Organization will be compelled to take its own course of action against defaulters.
