Dimapur, February 14 (MExN): Patkai Christian College’s 1st Creative Arts Fest themed ‘Passion into Action’ organised in collaboration with the Task Force for Music and Arts (TAFMA) kicked off at the Bundrock Auditorium
The festival’s special guest, Lanutemsu, Principal of Wandering Minds Institute of Fine Art, highlighted the need to nurture creativity within Nagaland, urging young people to contribute their talents to their homeland rather than seeking opportunities abroad.
A press release received here said that Lanutemsu envisioned a future where Nagaland becomes a global hub for artistic innovation, stating, “Nagaland should be a place where creativity should be at its peak, people from abroad should come here, searching, seeking to learn and to receive.” He also stressed the importance of incorporating art into daily life and culture, questioning, “Why don’t we wear it as part of our culture?”

Additionally, he redefined passion, stating, “Choosing to be kind, choosing to be a bit more considerate, choosing the right words to appreciate, or to do little things – I think those things are a good start.”
Tokhumba Yimchunger, General Secretary of Post Graduate Students’ Welfare Council (PGSWC) addressed the crowd saying, “This festival is a vibrant celebration of imagination, storytelling, and artistic expression- where words come to life and creativity knows no bounds.”

He stated that the fest will provide a platform for writers, poets, artists, and performers to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and inspire one another. He further encouraged the attendees to immerse themselves in thought provoking discussions, mesmerizing performances and creative showcases.
The Clark Brothers delivered a special song performance.

The inaugural programme was followed by various activities such as quiz, group song, just a minute (jam), art, essay writing, poetry slam, group dance, debate, mad ads., and fashion designing.
Altogether six houses will be participating in the weeklong event.
