Mon, October 7 (MExN): Phomching Area Students' Union (PASU) has expressed anger and condemned the rape of a minor allegedly by one Nizholhou Kuotsu, a resident of Medziphema Town. The union lamented that the accused being a teacher has set a bad example and has tarnished the image of teaching community.
In a statement issued by its general secretary, Nyelei Konyak and president, P Bonwang K, the union called upon all to condemn the incident “as such act is not acceptable in the civilized society.” No community or organization should defend or justify such inhuman act as the accused has admitted to committing the offence, it added.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the victim and her family and Phomching area as a whole, PASU thanked Child Welfare Committee (CWC), KNSK Kohima, KNSK Dimapur, Concerned Chee Forum (CCF) and all who have supported in the “distressful situation to give comfort and seek justifications.”
