Patkai MMC department launches documentary on anti-tobacco awareness

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): The department of Multimedia and Mass Communication (MMC), Patkai Christian College today launched the National Tobacco Control Programme’s sponsored short documentary on Anti-tobacco Awareness in its YouTube Channel ‘Patkai Buzz.’
As per a press release from the department, the documentary features Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol; Senior Public Prosecutor YT Sangtam, various Principals of Schools and Health Officials. The documentary was officially launched at District Coordination Committee Review Meeting (NTCP) last month.
The documentary takes a dig at the perennial issue of cancer rise in the state. It briefly presents the views and opinions of the administration, school management and health officials on tobacco use and its harmful effects.
The opening scene of the documentary reveals that at least one person is killed by tobacco every 5 seconds, 7.3 million persons killed every year, 28.3% school students in the state are tobacco users and 43.3% shown as the rate of adult tobacco users in Nagaland, the release added.
