Dimapur, Dec 28 (MExN): Former Working President of Nagaland NPF Youth Wing Kevechutso Doulo feels appropriate the younger generation, especially students, ought to ponder over the concept of patriotism, which he said should come from within, or for that matter, the family. He was addressing Porbami Students’ Union’s 57th general session as the chief guest.
Touching on the union’s motto “I a runa khruyo,” (I love my country) Doulo challenged the students to cultivate a sense of patriotism, asserting that patriotism has to come first from within the family. He strongly felt that students should deliberate on this particular matter from ‘time to time’ so that “an accurate ground” to found existence on is made and then create conducive atmosphere to live in.
“You must love your schools, friends, teachers and the village,” he maintained. Doulo also termed the session’s theme “Learn with vision” as ‘appropriate’, subscribing that a clear vision is required while endeavoring for excellence in the various spheres of life.
Doulo also congratulated successful students reminding that it was through their sincerity, dedication and hard labor they excelled in their respective academic pursuits. He, however, also added that “because of God blessing, parental care, dedicated teachers, you have accomplished your desired dreams”.
For the unsuccessful students he advised thus: Do not to feel discouraged but render extra efforts in the coming year. “You can do it,” Doulo affirmed. Doulo also urged the gathered students to face the competitive world and encouraged them to look for job avenues in various sectors.
Student/youth leaders Mudovoyo Vero (President, Chakhesang Youth Front), Kedukhalo (President, Thetsumi Youth Society), Senopelo, President of Seceku Wrestling Association and several others were also in attendance.
The session was chaired by Abel Tureng while PSU President Joseph Chiero delivered the Presidential Address. Ciekhusayi Chiero, a retired teacher, also shared greetings.
Election of new team of office bearers, a debate competition and prize distribution also marked the two-day long session.
