Patton assures justice in August 21 incident

Kohima, August 26 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton on Wednesday expressed concern over the recent incident involving a doctor and police personnel in Dimapur and asserted that the government will examine the Inquiry Committee’s report and initiate necessary action against anyone found guilty.

Y Patton, who is also in charge of the state’s Home Department, said that the government took strong exception of the incident and immediately set up an independent Enquiry Committee headed by an officer in the rank of Commissioner & Secretary with two senior officers, to go into the details of the case and submit its report within seven days.

“On receiving the Committee Report, the Government will examine and shall initiate necessary action to anyone found guilty as per the laid down procedures and the law of the land,” Patton said.

While assuring to do justice in the case, the Minister also appreciated the selfless services rendered by frontline workers especially during this time of pandemic.

He also appealed to all sections of the society to cooperate with the Government in the fight against this COVID-19 pandemic.
