Patton urges Lotha officers to serve the people with dedication

DIMAPUR, JULY 8 (MExN): Addressing the Lotha Officers Association (LOA) general conference on Saturday, chief guest Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton urged the Lotha officers to give their best service to the people with sincerity and dedication as they are the ambassadors of the Lotha community.

On Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Patton said Nagaland state government is doing its best to convince the Central government to exempt implementation of the UCC in the tribal dominated areas, where the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that not only to the tribal’s dominated areas but UCC will be exempted in the Christians dominated areas as well. 

Patton also assured the LOA that the elected representative from the district will always extend support and cooperate towards the association for the benefit of the community. 

Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan who was the special guest in his address highlighted that the members of LOA are the pillars of the Lotha society and urged them to remember God while carrying out their assigned duties. He encouraged the LOA members to take up their responsibilities with commitment and dedication and leave a good footprint to be followed up by the upcoming generation. 

He also appealed the LOA members to collaborate with the Lotha legislators and sought their advice and suggestion for good progress and development of the Lotha society. He said that the door is always open to extend all support and possibilities. 

Also expressing concern on the rampant substance abuse, gambling and other social menace that is hampering the society, Yanthan urged the gathering to take positive steps in controlling these menace. 

MLA, YM Humtsoe encouraged members of LOA to work together for the up lift of the younger generation. Humtsoe further appealed the members of LOA to work diligently and selflessly for the welfare of the society.

MLA, Achumbemo Kikon, while addressing the gathering, encouraged the officers to work hand in hand with the elected members to bring about better development and progress.

Advisor to Chief Minister, Nagaland Dr Chumben Murry, in his speech, focused on cleanliness and civic sense. Citing the example of Singapore, he appealed all section of people to be a law abiding citizens and extend co-operation to the government for the growth and progress of our society. President LOA, K Libanthung Lotha (IAS) in his welcome address appealed to all the members to give their best to the people so that the image of the Lotha community is enhanced.
