PAWF to host Fitness Festival on Nov 24

The 4th Fitness Festival organized by Performing Arts for Fitness (PAWF) is set to be held at NEZCC ground on November 24, in collaboration with The Lighthouse Church, Hope Academy, Star Excellence Kindergarden, Shalom Public School and The Maple Tree School.  

Speaking at the press conference held at Hope Cafe today, PAWF Managing Director Tainla Temjen said that despite Nagaland having a lot of potential and natural resources was not living up to the mark. Sedentary lifestyle has brought in a lot of health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, cancer, osteoarthritis to name a few.  

PAWF Nagaland formed in 2015 started a movement called ‘Fitter Nagaland.’ “The purpose of this fitness awareness programme is to create higher awareness of healthy lifestyle, to understand fitness, to facilitate and to educate that fitness is a way of life,” Tainla said.  

Focused on health issues, the event will include different activities such as Zumba, body combat, body building, HIIT, HTT etc. Trainers for the day will be Temjen, Tainla Temjen and Kuku.  

It was informed during the press conference that PAWF has pledged to donate 50% of the revenue generated through the Pass for the festival to the Go Movement. The other half would go for event hosting.  

Go Movement is a Christian movement initiated by the Sinai Ministry, Dimapur to pursue the promise of sending 10,000 missionaries from Nagaland. Pastor Meren Jamir of The Lighthouse Church said that through this movement, they were trying to fulfill the age old task started by our forefathers 47 years ago.  

Passes will be available for Rs 200 each at the venue. Students will get a discount of Rs 100 for every 200 registrations.

PAWF also said that they want to send a message to the Churches that being fit body, mind soul is very important. “We believe that being fit is another form of honoring God with our body,” they said and appealed to all Churches, citizens young and old to join the fitness awareness programme.
