Pay pending salaries by Sept 10: NEAN

Kohima, September 2 (MExN): The National Health Mission Employees Association Nagaland (NEAN) on Wednesday, gave the State Government seven days (till September 10) to release salaries that have been pending since July 2020.

If the government fails to release the pending salary, as requested, the association shall take the next course of action, as deemed fit, NEAN President Dr Shasinlo Magh and General Secretary Kewetso Kenye stated in a press release on September 2.

NHM employees, both technical and non technical, have been working ceaselessly since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the association said.

It added that “under such circumstances, the only logical sense on the part of the concerned authority must be to at least pay their monthly due salary,” and ensure that conduct of day to day activities, offcial and personal, are not hampered.

Further, the NEAN also appealed the state government to expedite the release of pending arrears for the current financial year from April 2020 onwards, which, it said, are yet to be released.
