Kohima, July 19 (DIPR): The staff of Raj Bhavan, Kohima organised a programme to honour PB Acharya on his completion of two years as the Governor of Nagaland on July 19 at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan.
Staff of Raj Bhavan, Banuo Koza, who chaired the program, said that PB Acharya was sworn-in as the Governor of Nagaland on July 19, 2014 and since then he came to be known as the “People’s Governor”. She mentioned that during his two years in the office, the Governor initiated fellowship exchange programmes under which free medical camps were conducted and also Teachers Exchange Programme.
She further said that the Governor was keen to ensure that various welfare schemes of the Government of India and the State Government reach the grassroots level. He has been a strong advocate of the national schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Swachh Bharat etc.
During the program, a video on the arrival of the Governor with his family to Nagaland, swearing-in ceremony, and his welcoming function was shown. Staff of Raj Bhavan along with their family members attended the celebration.
