Patkai, February 28 (MExN): Patkai Christian College marked National Science Day centered around the theme “science for a sustainable future” on February 28. 

A press release received here stated that the event, held at the college premises, featured distinguished guest speaker Dr Nzanthung Ngullie, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Chümoukedima, Nagaland. Dr Ngullie, in his speech highlighted the critical role of science in addressing contemporary challenges. He emphasised the significance of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), and their potential to shape a sustainable future. 

Drawing from the rich tapestry of scientific discoveries and inventions, Dr Ngullie inspired students with stories of innovation and urged them to pursue science as a pathway to both personal and societal development.

The event comprised of two sessions. The first session commenced with a formal programme, featuring a warm welcome address by PCC Principal, Dr Thepfuvilie Pieru. Students showcased their talents with special musical performances. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dean of Sciences, Dr Premkumar Singh. 

The second session of the event was dedicated to interactive activities, including a quiz and poster competitions for the students. Dr Premkumar Singh, Dean of Sciences, presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
