Phek, October 27 (MExN): The Phek Chamber of Commerce & Industries (PCCI) on Wednesday demanded quality telecom service in Phek district and cautioned telecom companies in the district of ‘serious steps’ in case of failure to do so. In a statement issued by its President and General Secretary, the PCCI raised serious concern over poor telecom service in Phek district. “There had been no sign of network improvement, even after countless approach and complaints,” it stated, adding that poor internet connectivity has been hampering online education of the students.
“There are cases of students moving to urban cities i.e Kohima and Dimapur for online classes due to pitiable network and internet service in Phek,” it highlighted. It stated that telecom companies should provide quality service to its customers or return all the unused facilities that falls under poor network categories to its customers.
“Customers have the right to be heard; the right to have problems corrected and the right to have good services,” it asserted.
Further, the PCCI cautioned that it would take “serious steps to depress non-performing telecom companies, if this issue is not resolved at the earliest.”
