Backing the PDA consensus candidate, Dr Chumben Murry, MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe, alongside former 38 AC BJP candidate Renponthung Ezung, led a campaign in Humtsoe and Elumyo villages on April 12.

In his address, MLA YM Humtsoe conveyed warm regards from the Chief Minister and all legislators. He assured the gathering that the Lothas are blessed this time for receiving the ticket after 61 years.

Furthermore, Humtsoe defended BJP against claims of being anti-Christian, highlighting its inclusive stance and citing India's Hindu population at 82%. He expressed confidence in PDA's expected 11 lakh votes out of Nagaland's total electorate of 13,17,643. Humtsoe also displayed unity among all 60 MLAs, suggesting Congress's slim chance of success without any legislators in the assembly. Additionally, he stressed the influential role of Elumyo and Humtsoe villages, noting their ability to sway neighboring villages, and urged unity in support of PDA candidate Dr Murry on April 19.

Renponthung Ezung, former 38th AC candidate in his speech pointed out that the Congress manifesto includes same-sex marriage, which he thinks goes against Christian beliefs and highlighted that the BJP manifesto doesn't have anything that would upset Christians.
Additionally, Ezung appealed the people to forget old political issues and come together to support Dr. Murry, who he believes is the best candidate.
