Kohima, August 9 (MExN): The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) today welcomed the Governor of Nagaland RN Ravi “for declaring that Article 371(A) is a solemn and scared commitment to the people of the State and that the Government of India is earnestly working to happily conclude the ongoing political process which is at a very advanced stage”.
The PDA in a press release jointly issued by its Chairman, Chingwang Konyak and Co- Chairman, Temjen Imna Along, acknowledged the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, “for declaring on the Floor of the Lok Sabha on August 6, that the special provisions enshrined in Article 371(A) of the Constitution of India will not be touched.”
“This gives us greater hope that the peace talks and negotiations for an early, honorable and acceptable solution are in the right direction for which the PDA will extend full cooperation towards realizing the long-felt aspirations of the people,” stated the ruling alliance.
