DIMAPUR, APRIL 21 (MExN): The Petroleum Dealers’ Association Dimapur (PDAD), comprising of Dimapur, Nuiland and Chümoukedima Districts, today clarified that the incident which occurred at M/s Highway Service Station, Padampukhuri wherein a customer had alleged the petrol station of scamming her was a “miscommunication.”
A press release from the PDAD informed that with the introduction of automation systems in all the retail outlets of the Petroleum Companies, the dispensing units give accurate data on sales and control over any adulteration. All the dispensing units for all the Retails Outlets in Nagaland are inspected and sealed by the Inspector of the Legal Metrology & Consumer Department, GON before the sales are allowed, it stated.
The association informed the public that the actual vehicle tank capacity mentioned by the company in their manuals is lesser than the actual capacity of the fuel tank which include the filter hose and breather circuit. “As per the international standard, the actual capacity of the tank is more than the specific mention. This is done to take care of the evaporative volume of the fuel vapours,” it added.
While appreciating the public and media for highlighting problems and issues faced by the public at the retail outlets, the association asked the public to take their grievances to the administration and police or with the association “before going to the public to avoid further misunderstanding.”
