PDCC exiting President receives send-off service

Phek, February 22 (MExN): The Phek District Congress Committee (PDCC) held an emergency extended meeting and sending off service at DCC office, Phek for the exiting PDCC President Mikha Kenye on February 20. The house extended its gratitude for his unwavering services rendered during his Presidentship and wished him success in his new assignment as President, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO).


In a press release, PDCC also welcomed into its fold the NPP members of 17 Chizami A/C who resigned from NPP and joined the INC on February 19. They are Neikotsolo Lasuh - President, Kelaveyi Sekhamo - Vice President, Veshelie Dzudo - General Secretary, Vekhosayi Lohe - Secretary, Zaveyi Nienu - Secretary and Dode Nakro - Active member.


The PDCC further said that its door was open to all people who wished to join the INC without prior condition. Various issues and resolutions were made during the meeting, the release added. It affirmed to support and strengthen the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, President AICC and K Therie, President NPCC and to revamp the entire party structure of Phek district at the earliest, while vowing to sincerely implement the Door to Door campaign and fund raising.


The house unanimously elected Khosapa Venuh as new PDCC President and Cheikropa Tunenu as Working President. A campaign committee was also constituted for the upcoming 13th Lok Sabha elections, 2019.


On the developmental activities under Phek district, the house appealed all concerned contractors to execute works sincerely to be completed on the scheduled time. It also appealed the Government of Nagaland to exhibit honesty so that the two-lane road under construction, vis – Chakhabama – Zunheboto via Chozuba and Pfutsero – Phek via Sakraba can be finished on scheduled time.


The PDCC expressed its disappointment on the apathetic attitude of the PDA Government on the CAB issue. Further condemning the unwavering stand of BJP led NDA Government for pushing the CAB against the wishes of minority communities, Northeast people and general public, the Congress Committee called for scrapping the bill immediately.


Meanwhile, the PDCC in its deliberation recalled that it had no record of revolting against any NPCC leadership since its inception. The Committee said it always maintained “dedication and loyalty towards all leadership of NPCC” and expected similar etiquette from all INC family. The PDCC further appealed that all kinds of differences be settled in a peaceful and amicable manner.
