Peren, July 18 (MExN): The Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) organized a legal awareness programme with the victims of drug abuse, under the theme ‘eradication of drug menace’ at Ahthibung town on July 18, which was attended by about 40 participants.
A press release issued by the NSLSA Public Relations Assistant stated that the resource person Asungbe, Retainer Lawyer spoke on drug abuse and eradication of drug menace scheme 2015, and Italang, Panel Lawyer spoke on the Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940.
During the program personal testimony on challenges and menace of drugs and substance abuse was shared by Lelen and Chonmong. Somet Chang highlighted the various roles played by the legal services authority for the marginalized and downtrodden citizens. She also encouraged and motivated the drug abuse victims to be active participants in the development of the society and to do away with drugs and other substance abuse, the release added.
