PDLSA trains PLs and PLVs

Peren, March 25 (MExN): Peren District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA) conducted training cum orientation for Panel Lawyers (PL) and Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) in Peren on March 24.  

Speaking on Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, Limathung, legal aid counsel cum trainer Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) stated that no person shall drive a motor vehicle in a public place without an effective driving license issued by the licensing authority as the punishment will attract simple imprisonment up to three months or fine of Rs. 500 or both.  

Under the Act, using mobile phone while driving a vehicle could attract fine of Rs. 100 for first offence and Rs. 300 for second or subsequent offence, he added, according to a press release.  

Limathung also spoke on filing FIR, RTI, victim compensation scheme, and Motor Accident Claims Tribunal. Resource person Tongpang, Master Trainer NSLSA also spoke on consumer rights, disability schemes, and Village Council Act.  

Meanwhile, Akumla, Master Trainer gave orientation to the PLs and PLVs on the forthcoming mega camp to be held in collaboration with Labor and other departments.
