PDMGDVA to launch 2nd phase agitation from Oct 6

PHEK, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The Phek District Maytas-Gayatri Damaged Victim Association (PDMGDVA) today informed that it would begin the second phase of its agitation if the Government of India fails to file its response before the Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court by October 5.

A press release from the association stated that the second phase of agitation would be in the form of ‘No Reply, No Work.’

The first stage of the current agitation will be for 15 days from October 6 to 21, during which time no working company/contractor on both Chakhabama-Zunheboto (under Phek District) and Pfutsero-Phek 2 lane roads will be allowed to undertake any work, it informed. The association added that the subsequent stages of agitation will be intensified in terms of duration or nature of agitation as deemed fit.

“For convenience and normal activity of general public, the association has reconsidered imposition of indefinite road blockade. Therefore, current agitation will not affect any vehicular movement on the two highways but will only restrain the working company/contractors from carrying out their activity on the mentioned two 2 lane roads till such time Union of India files its reply in the court,” it added.
