PDVCO demands Manger in SBI Phek

Phek, August 19 (MExN): Expressing dismay over the State Bank of India (SBI), Phek Branch functioning without Branch Manager since first week of July thereby creating severe inconveniences for the people of the area, the Phek District Voluntary Consumer Organization (PDVCO) has demanded immediate posting of the Manager for larger interest of the people.  

According to a press note appended by PDVCO President, Vekhoneyi Venuh, the last Branch Manager left Phek during the first week of July after being transferred and his replacement has not be appointed yet.  

In view of the Branch functioning without its Manager for more than one and half months, the people of the town and the entire neighbouring villages suffered untold miseries, PDVCO stated. All official proceedings both in transaction and other banking related matters had to be halted, creating immense problems to the customers, it added.  

The PDVCO on behalf of the entire denizens of Phek area has appealed to the authority concerned to “rescue” the people with immediate effect.  

Meanwhile, PDVCO, while observing the condition of the Nagaland State Transport (NST) night bus service plying from Phek to Dimapur, urged the department concerned to improve the condition of the bus stating the present bus is in pitiable condition.
