‘Peace process is for younger generation’

 Students Spiritual Conference Kiphire Chapter conducted

Minister Power C. Kipili Sangtam on Friday last while speaking at the Students Spiritual Conference Kiphire Chapter at Loyola Higher Secondary School encouraged the students to have vision in life in order to be a successful men and women in society.  

Speaking as special guest of honour on the theme of the conference ‘Save Generation’ Minister Power said, “Nagaland is a blessed land as we have committed ourselves and our land for Christ which is not found anywhere in the world.”  

Encouraging the student community, Minister Power said that the present peace process which is in negotiation table is for the younger generation. He also said that peace is needed for everyone and as a student you should all live for peace.  

Calling upon the students to maintain harmony and brotherhood in the community, the Minister also said that Kiphire being multi tribal district, students spiritual conference where all the school children in the district comes together for spiritual growth is a good beginning for the citizens in the district and encourage the students to cultivate positive attitude towards each other.  

Sharing the history of the Naga struggle in education as well as in political field, Minister also said, “schools and educational institution were deprived in Eastern Nagaland few decades back but today everything is available for you and ask the students to equip to take up any responsibility.”  

Giving welcome address Lipichem, convenor Students Spiritual Conference shared his concern for the youths of the district saying that people know Kiphire for wrong reasons and challenged the students to be an agent of change through personal change through the conference. He also said that the small vision that the organizers have for the student community will be a reality tomorrow and everyone present will be somebody in the society.  

Rev Ketou Theunuo shared on the objective of the conference and Rev Moa Longchari gave the message. Rev S.N Lotha, Rev Father John, Rev Moa Longchai, Pastor Mongzeung Mpon, Sethrocho ADC SSA DMA, and Rev Ketou were the speakers and resource person for the two day conference.
