Peducha villagers undertake mass social work along NH-39

Peducha villagers clearing plants, bushes along National Highway- 29 under its jurisdiction on August 10. 

Kohima, August 10 (MExN): In commemoration with ‘Chada Nyi’ festival, the Peducha villagers today cleared road side plants and bushes along National Highway- 29 within its jurisdiction.

The villagers undertook this mass social work under the theme “Clean is ours.”

Chada Nyi festival is also associated with cleaning of village surroundings, road sides and footpath leading to paddy fields.
Peducha village is one of the awardees of Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) in 2009.

Peducha village council chairman Tsilie Suohumvü called upon the youth to actively participate in the clean village mission.
He also requested each and every individual to join the cleanliness drive to keep the village neat and clean.

WATSAN committee chairman Bizo Viyie said that village is  implementing Solid Waste Management (SWM) this year in the form of collection of waste, removal and safe disposal of waste with the participation of the community.
