People to people dialogue on Indo-Naga political settlement

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 6 (MExN): The Naga Hoho has pointed out that the post cease-fire period have been marked by people to people dialogue and confidence building undertaken by Naga-Indian civil societies from time to time in different places particularly in the sub-continent. All these were initiated towards finding an amicable solution to the aged Indo-Naga political imbroglio.  Keeping in mind the importance of such events, a national consultation on Indo-Naga political settlement is being scheduled on 12 & 13 January, 2013 in India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi, wherein, both the Civil societies from India and Naga areas shall participate along with imminent personalities.

According to a press note from Naga Hoho President Keviletuo Kiewhuo and General Secretary P. Chuba Ozukum, the two day interaction will “analyse towards a possible resolution in the context of intended settlement between Govt of India and Naga people”. A good number from different civil societies and students under the aegis of Naga Hoho shall participate in this national consultation.

Meanwhile on the other side, the Naga Hoho stated that it was demoralized to read the news items in local dailies in regard to “differences and hiccups among the political parties particularly between the Congress and NPF over the formation of Joint Legislatures Forum (JLF) vis-à-vis adoption of resolutions”.

“Nevertheless, we fully appreciate their determination to pave the way in the event of any political settlement/ agreement and therefore the JLF members should uphold their landmark commitment in letter and spirit”. The Naga Hoho strongly believed that the actions of JLF will surely bear fruit towards bringing Indo-Naga political settlement at the earliest.
