People’s Plan Campaign for GPDP 2025-2026 conducted in Jakhama

JAKHAMA, NOVEMBER 1 (MExN): A one-day orientation program on the People’s Plan Campaign for the preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the fiscal year 2025-2026 was held today at Jakhama Sub-Division. Organized by the Rural Development Department, the program aimed to train village stakeholders and line departments on the Panchayati Raj-Community-Based Organizations (PR-CBO) Convergence program, a DIPR report stated.

Resource person BDO Jakhama Vilopi Angami provided insights into the GPDP preparation process, stressing the importance of community involvement. Meanwhile, State Project Coordinator Kheboka explained the objectives of the PRI-CBO Convergence project, designed to support local governance and enhance community engagement. He highlighted that the project is a model for supporting both Panchayati Raj institutions and community based organization network for effective convergence leading to sustainable and better implementation of NRLM. He also highlighted the objectives of the project and major activities like capacity building of CBO network, working with local governance and communitized committees.

The program was chaired by Block Program Manager Vitsituo Mepfhù-o, with Menguno Koso offering a prayer and Seyievito Neikha proposing the vote of thanks. Representatives from twelve villages, including Village Council Chairmen and SHGs, participated in the event.
