
Peren/Pughoboto, April 7 (DIPR): The Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of April was held at DPDB conference hall on April 6. Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Peren, Zarenthung Ezung chaired the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, TR Zeliang appreciated all the members for their cooperation and called on the officers to be sincere while discharging their duties. He urged the Development Department to implement the programmes and schemes on timely basis and also submit Utilization Certificate after the completion of every programme to avail funds for the next project. Meanwhile, he expressed serious concern on the irregularities of officers from office and their posting place, lamenting that some officers are present only in the DPDB meeting.
The Board reviewed the meeting minutes of the last meeting including – banning plying of vehicles carrying logs/timber during monsoon season with effect from May 1.
SDO (Civil) Robin also informed the house of the 412 plots approved and allocated to various NGOs and individuals at New Peren Headquarters.
Department of Cooperation, Economic & Statistic and Tourism highlighted their departmental activities through PowerPoint presentation. The Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Peren College, Peren and BSNL have been requested to present PowerPoint presentation in the next meeting.
SDPDB Pughoboto to request govt for water reservoir
The Sub-Divisional Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) of Pughoboto also held its monthly meeting on April 6 at Customary Court Hall, Pughoboto. The ADC & Vice Chairperson SDPDB Pughoboto, Avelu Ruho reviewed the last meeting’s minutes and informed the house that Pughoboto and Ghathashi towns have received street lights and are yet to be installed. The house approved to forward the extension of Veterinary & AH office at Pughoboto which was raised by Mayawati, Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer, Zunheboto. It also deliberated on water supply and decided to request the government for construction of water reservoir at Pughoboto Town in order to provide proper water supply to the public. The Board further welcomed two new members SDAO and SDEO Pughoboto.
