Peren, February 22 (MExN): The Chief Medical Office (CMO) Peren conducted Interpersonal Communication Campaign and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) village wise in 10 villages covering three blocks from January 19 to February 7. The topic was based on child health, maternal health, family planning and adolescent health.
The campaign was carried out to reach out to the grass root level in the villages, to communicate and disseminate information, educate and to get feedback; Focus Group Discussion with an average of 10 participants per village. Altogether, 162 participants attended the programme.
A team consisting of IEC personnel, Block Program Manager Peren Block, ASHAs coordinator Peren, Tening and Athibung Block along with nurses from Athibung and Tening conducted the FGDs. The discussion was solely based on the specific topic for each village. Before any FGD session was conducted time was given to address on the topic that was to be discussed. The FGD was also conducted keeping in mind the target group. The concern people in the villages were cooperative when they were informed that such activity is to be conducted.
FGDs have proved to be quite effective in disseminating and educating the right information on health issues in reaching out to the villages. The sole purpose of this activity is to share and discuss about the specific topics and so also to clear the doubts. The FGDs was conducted successfully in all the villages.
