Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Peren district advisory committee on Weekly iron folic acid supplementation (WIFS)/National Deworming Day (NDD) was held at Deputy Commissioner Chamber, Peren on February 6.
Peter Lichamo, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Health Society chaired the meeting while officials of various Departments from Chief Medical Office, School Education, Social Welfare, District Public Relations Office, Rural Development and Administration attended the meeting.
Welcoming the gathering, the DC Lichamo, said that the outcome of the meeting should impact the overall performance of the proposed program adding that convergence, cooperation and thorough discussion should be implemented for the success of the program.
Dr. Khrielasanuo, DPO, RCH/UIP highlighted the final report on 4 rounds of all the Mission Indradhanush carried out in the District.
The coverage of 1st round IPPI this year was lower than last year at 81%, she pointed out calling for improving the same. She informed about the upcoming Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) 2st Round which will be held on February 21.
A brief introduction and modalities about the upcoming Deworming Day on February 10 and mop- up on February 21 were also highlighted by her.
The DC further informed that all the administration heads in the District and Block level in Peren will be entrusted the responsibility to see that the program is carried out and implemented successfully.
He also informed the Private schools association regarding the Deworming day, according to press note from Pezanguno Celine Secii, District Media Officer, CMO Office Peren.
