PEREN, NOVEMBER 14 (MExN): The District Tobacco Control Cell of Peren District has enforced the following with immediate effect: ban on smoking in public places which includes Government buildings, public transport, hotels, restaurants, parks, hospitals, schools, libraries, auditorium, open auditorium, railway station, work places, cinema halls, discotheques, pubs, airport lounge and prison etc. A DIPR report stated that the ban will be on all forms of direct and indirect advertisements of Tobacco products; sale of Tobacco products to and by minors and within 100 yards of educational institutions and depiction of specified health warnings on tobacco products packages. Violation of this order will be dealt with as per the provision of the COTPA Act, 2003.
