Peren, April 29 (DIPR): People of Peren district bade farewell to the outgoing Deputy Commissioner Peter Lichamo and welcomed his replacement, Zarenthung Ezung on April 28 at the DC’s conference hall.
Peter said that during his two years and one month stay in Peren, every officer and staff was very disciplined, co-operative and supportive. Despite the many ups and downs in the district, he expressed satisfaction serving and working closely with different sections of the people, particularly the representatives of the district. Acknowledging that with the help of God and cooperation of all, he could sail through till today, he said he is just an instrument of God “to serve the people” and his motto will always remain so. He also thanked the people of the district for the love and cooperation.
The new Deputy Commissioner, Zarenthung Ezung in his short speech assured the outgoing DC to carry on his dreams and visions. Further, he called upon the officers and staff and the public of Peren for continued co-operation.
ADC Tening, Thsuvisie Phoji described the outgoing DC as a gentleman. PD (DRDA) Imtimenla while speaking on behalf of the DPDB members said that his sense of endurance in good or bad times remained firm. SDO (Civil) Peren, D Robin, who spoke on behalf of the HQ Officers, said that the availability of DC in station all the time spoke volume. PDDBA President Kurangbe gave a remark of the outgoing DC as a Gandhian principled man, who stood for non-violence and equality of all. Others who also spoke at the programme were UDA Ramyina, Zeliangrong Baudi, Kuki Inpi (N) and ZLR Mipui.
