DAN organized the general election and session of the Peren District Level Children’s Parliament at St Xavier Parish, Jubilee Hall, Jalukie on May 17.

PEREN, MAY 19 (MExN): Children’s Parliament Initiative-II under the aegis of Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) organized the general election and session of the Peren District Level Children’s Parliament under the theme “enchasing children’s participation in building leadership skills” at St Xavier Parish, Jubilee Hall, Jalukie on May 17.
A press release issued by DAN informed that Haikeleilung Pame, JE PWD, Peren, in his key note address, stated that to be a good leader, one should be able to take up challenges and keep in mind that though we are in a world full of challenges one should believe in one’s own potential. He further told the students to make use of the time and build themselves up by learning from one’s own mistakes and master their talent through the practice of perseverance.
Earlier, the program began with an invocation by Rev Father Albert, Vice Principal, St Xavier Hr Sec School, Jalukie. Azeu, Mentor of LM Hr Sec. School, Mhainamtsi chaired the programme and Maheni Martha, Training Associate -DAN delivered the welcome address. Keyisidaile from All Saints Hr Sec School, Peren delivered the vote of thanks.
A total of 65 participants including Mentors along with the children’s Parliament representatives from 10 institutions and 5 neighborhood Children’s Parliament attended the program. Zhülozü from Ramzie School, Jalukie was elected as the Prime Minister of the District Level Children’s Parliament.
