Peren DMU reviews forest management project implementation

Peren, April 13 (MExN): The Divisional Management Unit (DMU), Peren Division under the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted a two-day divisional annual review meeting on April 9 and 10 at the Forest Resource Centre, Jalukie.

The programme aimed to review the progress, achievements and challenges of various project activities undertaken during the past year, while also formulating strategies for the upcoming phase of implementation.

A key segment of the meeting featured detailed presentations by ADMU-cum-FMU Head of Peren Range, Jongponglemba, FMU Head of Tening Range, Punseni Khing, and FNGO C-CERP team leader Liangsi Niumai on activities carried out during the financial year 2025–2026.

The meeting also included feedback sessions from project villages across different batches, where representatives of Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) shared their experiences, challenges and success stories.

This was followed by an interactive discussion session aimed at strengthening coordination and improving implementation strategies.
