Peren, October 7 (MExN): The Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DC's conference hall, Peren on October 7. The meeting was chaired by DC and Vice Chairman, DPDB Peren, Hiazu Meru.
As per the DIPR report, the agenda on recasting of Iconic Projects in respect of 7 Peren AC under the scheme name construction of council hall in Jalukie Zangdi village and Dungki village were deliberated upon and approved by the board.
The house decided to organise a Unity Mini Hornbill Festival from December 5 to 7 with an aim to bring all the communities of Peren district together during the event. Additionally, the house also agreed to hold the festival in two locations, where formal programme will be held at DC’s office complex and informal programme at Zero Point. In view of this, the Deputy Commissioner has requested all the DPDB members to be actively involved for the successful conduct of the festival.
The house also resolved to conduct Inter-Departmental Tournament from 7th-9th November 2024 at Jalukie. The tournament will feature various disciplines like Badminton, Carrom, Table Tennis, Arm Wrestling and Penalty Shootout.
On the agenda for full functional of DIET centre under Jalukie Sub-division, DC has entrusted ADC Jalukie to verify the land matter.
The board also approved and recommended the registration of societies in respect of Rani Gaidinliu Vedic Gurukulam Society at Azailong Village and Liangmai Baptist Aruang (LBA) at Tening.
Other agendas discussed in the meeting included: DPDB Pilot Projects for off-season crops at New Tesen Village; issues of water supply & electricity connections at District HQ and establishment of new EBRC and SDEO Office under Jalukie Sub-division.
The Deputy Commissioner further reminded the members on the conduct of Table Top Exercise with the line departments and stake holders to be organised by the DDMA on October 22, and on the actual Mock Exercise to be conducted on October 24. He also requested the departments to be prepared for the same.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chair.
