Peren DPDB discuss wide-ranging topics

Peren, January 31 (DIPR): The Peren District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of January 2011 was held on the 29th at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Peren (New Site), under the Chairmanship of Minister for Planning & Co-ordination, T. R Zeliang. Initiating the meeting, the two new members – Zachiviluü, District Sericulture Officer and Matsung, Sub- Registrar, Peren were introduced to the house.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes on preservation of Ngaulwa Ranges, the Forest department, Peren was asked to initiate demarcation of boundary line and to submit final report in the next DPDB meeting. The Board also dwelt on the cattle control. The SDO (Civil) Jalukie was entrusted to issue a corrigendum with another condition as to enable the farmers to take up Kharif and Rabi crops cultivation without hindrance in the plain sectors. Deliberating on the new agendas, the Chairman informed the house about the Government’s decision not to continue with the Road Show as in the past but instead to have a Tribal festival in every District. In this connection the house decided that a special meeting be convened by the D.C, Peren with the Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmai Councils of Peren District.
The house recommended for opening of Ramzie School Jalukie and Little Star School Jalukie Town. Deliberating on opening of new Schools and its problems, the house asked the DIS, Peren to issue circular to the Village/ Town to seek prior permission from the education department before opening any new school. The house also recommended for posting of Assistant Controller, Weight and Measures. The application for issue of Taxi permit by Hairongbe, Poilwa was recommended by the house. The house further deliberated on the absence of transport Officials in the DPDB, and decided to write to the higher authority to send one officer to the next DPDB meeting to explain the position of transport office, Peren.
The house also approved the grant in Aid 2009-10 of Tenning Block, submitted by BDO- Tenning. The board members along with Chairman inspected the ongoing works of the sports complex, D.C’s residential plot and other ongoing works in the new site.
