Peren DPDB meet held

Dimapur, April 5 (DIPR): Peren District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of March 2011 was held on March 30, 2011 at Peren Town Hall under the chairmanship of Minister for Planning & Co-ordination and Chairman DPDB Peren, T.R. Zeliang.
Initiating the meeting, the chairman welcomed the two new members, Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Kawakhrie and District Statistical Officer Peren, A.C. Ezung to the house. Reviewing the last DPDB meeting minutes, the board requested the Planning & Co-ordination Department Peren to make a power point presentation of the District Road Map in the next DPDB meeting. On the new district headquarter boundary demarcation, the board felt the need of the presence of senior officials for deliberation on the topic as such the Director of Land Records and Survey was requested to attend the next DPDB meeting.
Dwelling on the new agenda, the following points were deliberated by the board. In regard to tree plantation at Model Township Peren, the board agreed to start the plantation in the present season from District headquarter junction to Model Township with ornamental trees. The tentative date for the plantation was fixed on April 30, 2011 with the participation of all the departments, NGOs and students from Peren and Jalukie. Water supply to Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya Jalukie ‘B’ - the EE PHED Peren was requested to survey and prepare technical estimate and submit it as early as possible; for immediate relief the Project Director DRDA Peren was requested to take up construction of three ring wells under MNREGA (General pool). The board also recommended for plying of NST bus service between Dimapur to Nsong as a special case. Construction of foothill road from Heningkunglwa to Model Township via Dungki, Deukoram-Lower Jalukie was approved and EE PWD (R&B) was requested to prepare DPR of the same. The board also approved and recommended the proposal for opening of Government Primary School and Government Middle School (upgradation) Ahthibung to the Government for necessary action.
