Peren, October 28 (MExN): Peren DTF on COVID-19 and other health programmes in the district held a joint meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & DTF Chairman, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren on October 27.

During the meeting, the current status of COVID-19 pandemic and various ongoing activities in the district were presented by District Surveillance Officer, Peren, Dr Dungkiabe, a DIPR report stated here.

Concerning the re-opening of schools, the house decided that those schools which are not fulfilling COVID-19 protocols will not be allowed to conduct regular teaching classes. Further, the District Education Officer was entrusted to ascertain/seek necessary information from their department to conduct upcoming examinations for various standards in regards to COVID-19. Meanwhile, the members also agreed to initiate stringent action against errant staff in schools as per government guidelines to prevent outbreak of COVID-19 for conducting regular activities in the schools.

During the course of the meeting, it was also decided that the members of COVID Death Ascertaining Committee shall take additional responsibilities as the members of COVID Grievances Redressal Committee in the district and detail formalities will be work out by the committee/s.

District Immunization Officer, Dr Kiholi highlighted on COVID Vaccination Status in the district and the Chairman suggested vaccination teams to take the help of their respective Block Task Forces especially in areas where public response are poor.
