Peren Government College celebrates 39th Foundation Day

39th Foundation Day of Peren Government College was celebrated in the college campus on April 13,

Peren, April 13 (MExN): The 39th Foundation Day of Peren Government College was celebrated in the college campus on April 13, bringing together faculty members, students, and alumni to commemorate the institution’s journey and achievements over the years.

The event was compered by Paukizonne, Assistant Professor, Department of Education. The celebration commenced with an invocation by Dr Inzule Zeliang, followed by a soulful rendition of “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” by the college choir.

Principal Dr T Jamedi Longkumer delivered an inspiring address, reflecting on the inception of the college and its 39 years of progress. He highlighted both achievements and existing challenges, encouraging collective efforts towards further improvement and excellence.

The cultural segment featured a musical performance of “River Flows in You” by Wirangbo and a melodious presentation of “Thank You for the Music” by Guduakliu.

During the programme, three university toppers of the Undergraduate Final Examination under Nagaland University (CBCS) were felicitated: Puisuile (Department of Education, 5th Rank, CGPA 7.00), Keyinciepgongle (Department of History, 3rd Rank, CGPA 7.39), and Sehlal Singson (Department of Political Science, 10th Rank, CGPA 7.75). The Academic Excellence Award 2025, presented by the Peren Government College Teachers Association, was also bagged by Sehlal Singson. 

The Best Student Award, conferred by the Alumni Association, was received by Keyiciepgongle. The Best Discipline Award, awarded by the Discipline Committee, was given to four students: Reluicule (2nd Semester), Rita Bisu Karma (4th Semester), Liviholi Achumi (6th Semester), and Ikaplungbe (6th Semester). Additionally, winners of various literary and cultural competitions organised earlier by the Literary and Cultural Committee under Mechakhaira were also honoured during the programme.
