Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The creation of Peren district headquarters is the fruit of a united people of Peren who rose above their differences to form a dream and strived to realize it, according to the Zeliangrong Baudi.
“The leaders of the Zeliangrong people had for the first time united, regardless of different parties, beliefs and ideologies and put their heads together to find a suitable place for the district headquarter” the Baudi’s president Dennis Elung stated in his speech at the inauguration of the headquarter on May 15.
After much planning and surveying plus many other difficulties that unfortunately cropped up, the Zeliangrong Baudi finally achieved the longstanding vision and goal “by creating” a model township which would be used as the headquarters of the Zeliangrong, he asserted.
He said it was decided to build a district headquarter here, due to its perennial source of water supply and also “many other advantages,” especially expansion and planning and “also some things which we tend to overlook and omit.” The support and encouragement of the Chief Minister and his colleagues and also Rajya Sabha MP TR Zeliang, was acknowledged by the Baudi. Their initiative was a “significant boost” to the fulfillment of this model township in Peren district, Elung said.
Referring to initial efforts, he said the Zeliangrong Baudi and the committee in charge of the planning and construction of this headquarter, had no obstacles where the financial part was concerned. The mentioned leaders’ generosity was an encouragement right from the beginning to the completion of Peren the Baudi stated.
“We, as a community which has been lacking in developmental ideas due to financial constraints and many other factors which was a major obstacle, had been able to go ahead with the support of the land owners and well wishers whom I thank on the behalf of the Zeliangrong people” Elung said adding that the contribution and collective effort of all concerned would not be forgotten. “We will never forget this gesture and I know that God will bless you all a double fold, now or in the near future” he prayed.
