Chümoukedima, February 14 (MExN): Peren district secured the top position in the medal tally at the end of Day-III of the ongoing Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024 (NOPG 2024) on February 14, with Kohima and Dimapur closely trailing.
Peren’s tally comprised 7 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
However, with higher overall totals but fewer gold medals, Dimapur and Kohima were close second and third.
As of Day-III, Kohima had 6 gold, 9 silver, and 4 bronze medals, totaling 19 overall. Dimapur, with the same number of gold but fewer silver (4) and 8 bronze, secured the third position with 18 medals.
Phek, the initial leader on Day-II, was relegated to fourth place with 6 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals. The districts of Tseminyu and Zunheboto had yet to open their account at the end of Day-III.
The NOPG 2024 officially kicked off on February 12 and will conclude proceedings on February 17.
