Perfect Punch: 2nd BAM boxing camp underway in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, October 10 (MExN):  The 2nd Intensive Free Boxing Camp organized by the Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM) is underway at P Shilu Ao Park, Imkongmeren Sports Complex. 

Professional boxing coaches from the Department of Youth Resources & Sports (DYRS) are imparting the training at the camp with the Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA) Vice-President Lakatsu Chophy as the Head Coach. The DYRS and NABA are collaborating for the camp.

A press release from BAM informed that during a short programme held before the start of the camp, the Association’s President  Lanuakum Imsong encouraged the young participants to be confident and set their sights on excelling in the sport.

He said that BAM will always be there for the young aspiring boxers to help them achieve excellence, promote them, and open avenues for them to pursue their dreams to compete at the state, national, and international levels.

The Head Coach of the camp and one of the most experienced boxers in the state, Chophy, expressed his satisfaction on seeing the enthusiastic young boxers who have registered for the camp.

The Associate Pastor (Child Ministry) of Kumlong Baptist Church, Moanaro Imchen, invoked God’s blessing and guidance for the whole camp.

Meanwhile, the BAM informed that the registration for the camp has been extended till October 12. Registration timing is from 3pm and the coaching starts from 5pm, it added.

To this end, it encouraged all boxing aspirants, who meet the eligibility criteria, to register for the camp as those who have the aptitude and talent would be shortlisted for furthering their career in boxing.
