‘Performance and Speech’ training for NCS probationers

Kohima, July 19 (MExN): To train the officer trainees for successful public speaking, ‘Performance and Speech’ training was conducted for the first time at Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Nagaland for the Nagaland Civil Service Probationers of 2015 Batch on July 17.  

Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Kohima College and Founder of Kohima Academy of Dramatic Arts was the resource person for the day. She started the day by differentiating Personality and Persona. “Personality is a combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual’s character or make and individual unique,” while “Persona is the personality that a person adopts and presents to other people; the aspect of someone’s character that is presented to or perceived by others.”  

The one day module included – theoretical and practical exercises on Breathing, Voice Projection, Modulation, Tone/Rhythm/Pitch and Delivery; Body Language; Observation, Focus, and the art of Concentration.  

Besides the probationers, some officers of ATI too attended the programme.   This was informed in a press release issued by Dr. Hovithal N. Sothu, Course Coordinator, NCS Foundation Program.
