Performances of banks in Dimapur reviewed

Dimapur, June 10 (DIPR): Dimapur District Banks consultative committee (DCC/DLRC/DLSE) held its quarter end meeting at DC’s Conference Hall on June 9.
Agendas such as opening of Allahabad Bank branch at Dhansaripar Sub-Division, performance of Bank’s under Annual Credit Plan 2010-11, performance of Bank’s under Government Sponsored Schemes and proper recovery of loan from public sectors to be carried out monthly basis, various credit cards (KCC/ACC) schemes, Review of financial inclusion by extension of Banking services, no-frill account opening providing Banking services in every Village having population over 2000 and opening of Bank A/C for Students.
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Maongwati Aier who is also the Chairman of DLRC said that performance of Banks in Dimapur are better than other Districts in the state, however, he appealed to ICICI Bank which is the largest Public financial sector or Bank in India to come up with better performance in public sectors in the state. While stating this, he urged the Allahabad Bank to establish the Rural Self-Employment Training Institution (RSETI) which has been delayed for the past two quarters, on loan defaulters.
He stated that District Administration will fully support and assist all the financial Institutes (Bank’s) operating in the District for recovery of Loan from the borrowers/defaulters to be carried out monthly basis jointly with Government machineries and NGO’s like VDB’s, VCC’s and GB’s. Maongwati said that the committee will also organized public awareness programme on loan recovery on credit cards for rural farmers like (KCC/ACC) schemes and its establishment. He said that Agriculture department should come forward to contact with the VDB’s to select the KCC beneficiaries and Government support for better infrastructure and inputs to the farmers. He said that the committee would also organize public awareness programme on loan recovery. He urged the Bankers to provide Banking services in every Village, having a population of over 2000.
