Pungro, January 17 (MExN): Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division (PFPSD) has extended the deadline of the public ultimatum served to the Power Department for immediate retrieval of SDO (Electrical) post at Pungro Sub-B Kiphire station, which was withdrawn by the government.
The Forum extended the deadline for another seven days and demanded written clarification/ justification on the stand of the government in the issue and the progress of the file on or before January 24, 2017.
A press release from PFPSD informed that it had earlier served an ultimatum to the power department on December 3, 2016 regarding the issue, and in response an appeal in a letter NO. PWR/ESTD-32/2010 dated Kohima December 19, 2016 was made to re-examine the ultimatum and to give time for a suitable decision by the government.
Thus, the forum had extended the deadline for 14 days. However, the forum said, on the expiry of the 14 days deadline, the Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pungro made a strong appeal to PFPSD not to proceed its own course of public action as the file is proceeding positively and also the Under Secretary of the Department of Power stated that the secretary is on leave and the matter be proceeded upon his arrival at the earliest possible time. Following this, the deadline was extended for another seven days.
The release appended by S. Kiusumew Yimchunger, President and Khiutsithong, General Secretary of PFPSD asserted that the Forum will not compromise if the government fails to fulfill the public demand and give convincing response in written within the stipulated time.
